Website builder

I want to put a list of names (top to bottom down the left side of the home page) If someone clicks on one of the names I would like to go to a seperate page which would contain info about that person. Can I do this without using Frontpage, Dreamweaver, etc. If so please tell me how in detail. Is there any place on the net that has good infomation on how to use this Web builder service?

I need to learn how to design a web-site. I am planning to start this as a hobby and if all goes well, maybe even start a side job as a web-designer. What type of program should I learn? Is Microsoft FrontPage still good to use or is it no longer up-to-speed with other leading web-designing programs.

What other types of programs are out there that will help me with website design. Do you think Macromedia is a good choice? I know it’s a bit steep in price but I figure if I am to invest the time to learn the ‘difficult’ program, time is money, why be shy on one and not the other.

What about Adobe? Do they have a web-designing software?

Please share your thoughts. I really need the help.

BUT, for me. and im an easy going guy who likes how geocities does it with the sitebuilder, its so easy, drag and drop, layering you can bring to front, bring to back, track it all around. unlike dreamweaver where its basically an extremely advanced Microsoft word. Now im lookin for a program that is easy like geocities site builder, i stumbled upon a program at school one day, i opened it up just to mess around with it for a few seconds, it seemed to have an easy interface like sitebuilder! I need some suggestions on other programs like this. any suggestions? please dont hold back. money is not a problem. thank you torrents…

I’m using Microsoft frontpage and it doesn’t appear on Firefox browser. I need website builder that appears correctly both in IE and Mozilla Firefox(at least in these two browsers). Please recommend me a good one. I want to try the dreamweaver but it is too expensive for me (know how to get it free?)
The points that yous should know:
- I’ve already have my own domain and hosting.(I don’t need one!) Don’t suggest me page builders that needs to use the same company as host such as geocities etc.
-I just need the builder and when I publish the website it’ll appear in at least IE and Mozilla Firefox.
-I’m creating an online simple shop just for customer to view my items and send their orders thru form.

If it is possible to make the website visible in both mozilla and I.E, what kind of settings should i make to the microsoft frontpage? Please teach me.

I liked frontpage cuz it was really easy to use (for me i mean)

It was easy when I was new to all this and wasn’t using the email services for work. Now, I find myself with emails that I really need to keep the information on but It is quickly becoming unmanagable. I clean up my boxes once a week and I still have over 230 that I need to keep information from.

Here is my idea; I would like to create a Database where I can list the sender, then the content I need to retain, along with notes and other comments. Then another that explains or reminds me of my actions in each matter.

I had this vision in my head of something simular to a forum thread. I have the Microsoft Office progam on my computer and also thought of using the website builder for a linking Database.

Have any of you had something you needed to organize like this?

How did you resolve the issue?

Thank you gentlemen. You both make very good points, but, perhaps I did not make my situation clear.

I am willing and able to create a template using the programming I already have on my system. I do not use the provided templates as I have never found one that I did not have to end up totally recreating. Thereby wasting all the work I put into trying to use someone elses idea of a bad example.

If I make a single catagory folder in my email system for each of the items I would need catagorized it would be close to two pages long. Can you imagine?

I am a freelance writer. I would need one each for the content Albin suggested as well as one for online newspapers, hard copy newspapers, online magazines, hard copy mags, profile projects, site registration and login info to the more than 15 Websites that I may use in a week for my work. And this does not even scratch the surface.

I was hoping someone with a simular experience would advise me here. Thanks to you both.
